First off, thanks a million to those of you who so generously and eloquently added to Jessica’s story. It’s really heartening to be a part of such a compassionate, empathetic and insightful community with unique perspectives from all over the world. I look forward to offering my own experience of community (and yes, isolation) soon, though it may be a few days as…
Spring Break has officially descended upon the Berry household (and TWO WEEKS of spring break, nonetheless). Listen closely and you’ll hear my kids screaming and destroying the house all around me, pretty sure.
Additionally, we are going on seven straight weeks of houseguests. This time, Heidi and Abel, my amazing sister-in-law and nephew are the welcomed additions to our familial chaos. Their visit couldn’t be more timely considering our current themes of community and women supporting women. I can’t wait to share all I’ve been reminded of living with a baby again.
So, while I have about a million ideas in queue, a TON to catch you up on around the home front and my head might actually explode if I have to contain this book any longer (it’s finally taking form!!!), the amount of breath work I’m having to do in order to keep from yelling at my kids, the number of times I’ve planted my face in my hands in defeat and the fact that this 350-word post has taken me three days to write tell me that I need to reassess my priorities, get off the computer and fully embrace this time with my family.
Because if I don’t, this is what my kids’ spring break will look like…
You already know what happens to my house…
And I’ll be missing out on some of the finest life has to offer…
I’ll check back in just as soon as I’m able. In the meantime, you can be sure I’ll have my Moleskin and pencil at the ready (always), that I’ll be living the story and that I’ll be handed a lesson or two to weave into the next tale!
Good for you! Enjoy!
Oh how I miss my son and wife. yeah and my sister/brother inlaw, nieces…
